Every vote counts! With 97% of the vote in, Democrat Scott Colom leads Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith by just 28 votes in Mississippi, and the AP has not called the race.

Colom, a district attorney and seventh generation Mississippian, would become the state’s first Black senator since Reconstruction if he holds on. Mississippi hasn’t sent a Democrat to the Senate since 1982, and Trump won the state by 23 points in 2024.

The twist? Hyde-Smith blocked Colom’s nomination to a federal judgeship in 2023. Now he could take her seat.

Do you think Colom pulls it off?

“Isn’t everyone on the autistic spectrum?” Spoiler: no.

I hear this all the time, and it can feel incredibly invalidating. The spectrum isn’t a line from less autistic to more autistic. You might relate to some autistic traits, but that doesn’t mean everyone is on the spectrum.

I find it more helpful to talk about support levels. I’m level one, so I have lower support needs than someone who’s level three, who might need round-the-clock care, for example. That doesn’t make one of us more autistic than the other. My support needs may be lower, but autism still has a huge impact on my life.

Just as every neurotypical person is different, every neurodivergent person is too, and everyone’s experience is valid.

Save this for the next time you need to explain why we aren’t all on the spectrum ❤️

Yes, I’m celebrating this beautiful blue wave! 💙🌊 And I’m also holding the vision of a future where we evolve beyond the limitations of a two-party system into something far more inclusive, compassionate, and representative of the magnificent diversity of humanity. A system that truly serves the well-being of ALL.

There is so much more possible for us as a species. And today, I’m celebrating this step in that direction. Joy joy joy! Congratulations loves! 😭😭😭

YAY, HUMANITY! 💙🩵💙🩵💙
