How to paint an album cover, in 9 easy steps ✨️
Step 1: Record an EP with your band, ideally at @cart_music and @headroomphiladelphia
Step 2: Talk with your front person about their vision for the cover art
Step 3: On a square canvas, start with an acrylic underpainting to define major shaps and values
Step 4: Layer with oils, starting with your darkest values and then moving to your lighter values.
Step 5: Refine details
Step 6: Wait for the paint to fully cure before sealing with varnish
Step 7: Photograph the piece at a high resolution
Step 8: Wait a while
Step 9: Release the EP! 🥳
