💡 Interesting Fact: If you grew up riding in the backseat on late-night drives, that deep orange glow over every street was low-pressure sodium lighting, and it had a strange side effect. These lamps give off almost a single wavelength of light, around 589 nanometers, so your eyes can’t separate colors under them. Red cars, green grass and blue jackets all faded into shades of orange and black. That’s why the nights of your childhood felt like a warm, dreamy, slightly unreal movie scene. Cities have been swapping them for LED streetlights for years because LEDs can cut energy use by 50 to 70 percent and last far longer. The tradeoff is that the cooler, whiter light brings back full color but also brings more blue light, which astronomers and wildlife researchers say can be harder on night skies, insects and sleep cycles. So the orange glow that quietly disappeared from so many roads wasn’t just a different color of light. It’s finally here! Lucy Tonkin Fit online coaching is officially OPEN. 🤩 I grew up sporty and have always loved fitness, but when it came to training and nutrition, I felt completely lost. I only trained lower body, missed days, wasn’t eating enough to fuel myself, and ran way too hard every run until I convinced myself I just wasn’t a runner. Training felt like a chore, and I couldn’t work out why I wasn’t seeing results. Then I learnt to move explosively, train each body part in different ways, and why recovery matters. I fell in love with conditioning and running, and once I started training myself, I built a routine I look forward to every week.
