Claude Closky
Le Marché de l’art expliqué aux tout-petits, 2026
Good Books, Paris
Edition of 100
We are very happy to present Good Books’ first publication: Claude Closky’s Le Marché de l’art expliqué aux tout-petits.
Conceived as an activity book with stickers for young children, the publication plays with the familiar conventions of children’s activity books. In place of the usual illustrations, Closky uses screenshots from auction-house websites (Christie’s, Sotheby’s, etc.), showing auction results for artworks composed of coloured circles.
Some of the circles have been faded out to make room for stickers of different colours and sizes. Children are invited to complete the works themselves, discovering art through its market in the process.
The reproduced works are arranged in pairs according to visual correspondences: Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst, Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Sarah Morris, Poul Gernes and Tauba Auerbach, Véra Molnar and Bridget Riley, Atsuko Tanaka and Yayoi Kusama, Ben Nicholson and Jerry Zeniuk, Alexander Calder and Mary Heilmann, Thomas Downing and Wade Guyton, Kenneth Noland and John M. Armleder, Sonia Delaunay and Kazuya Sakai, Loló Soldevilla and Victor Vasarely, Wassily Kandinsky and Auguste Herbin, Robert Delaunay and John Baldessari.
