I haven’t done watercolours for a while, but I took some paint, paper and brushes to British Columbia because I knew I would see something I’d like to paint; and I’m glad I did. The tree was an afterthought.

‫تصاویری از جمعه ۳۰ اکتبر ۲۰۲۶ (۸ آبان) در شبکه‌های اجتماعی منتشر شده که بالا رفتن ستون‌های دود سیاه از پالایشگاه نفت نووکویبیشفسک روسیه را در پی حمله‌های گزارش‌شده پهپادهای اوکراینی به منطقه سامارا نشان می‌دهد.‬ ‫ ‬ ‫فرماندار منطقه سامارا بر روی پیام‌رسان مکس نوشت که در پی حمله پهپادی اوکراین به منطقه سامارای روسیه، دو مرد هنگام پاکسازی و رسیدگی به پیامدهای ناشی از این حمله، جان خود را از دست دادند.‬ ‫ ‬ ‫الکساندر نواک، معاون نخست‌وزیر روسیه، گفت که اوکراین پس از یک وقفه، با حمله شبانه به تاسیسات واقع در منطقه سامارا، حملات خود به پالایشگاه‌های نفت روسیه را از سر گرفته است. وی افزود که در این حمله سه پالایشگاه نفت و یک مجتمع گاز و پتروشیمی در منطقه هدف قرار گرفتند و یکی از آن‌ها دچار خسارت جزئی شد.‬ ‫ ‬ ‫یوری اوشاکوف، مشاور امور خارجی کرملین، گفت که حملات جدید به پالایشگاه‌های روسیه نشان می‌دهد که اوکراین درخواست دونالد ترامپ برای توقف چنین حملاتی را نادیده گرفته است.‬ ‫ ‬ ‫این حملات یک روز پس از حمله پهپادی روسیه به یک ایستگاه قطار در اوکراین در روز پنج‌شنبه ۲۹ اکتبر صورت گرفت که بنا بر اعلام مقامات محلی، دست‌کم ۱۴ نفر، از جمله یک پسر ۱۱ ساله در آن کشته شدند.‬
