Huge thank you to everyone made our opening weekend our biggest and best yet!! We had a great time talking videos, our gone but not forgotten video store rituals, and just hanging out in general. It gives us hope of a future where we can bring back the video store in some form.
My favorite moment of the entire weekend was talking with someone from Tijuana who got emotional and teared up seeing our installation as it reminded her of home and when she was only tall enough to see the bottom shelves. Her ritual was filled with tacos from a taqueria next door. Her tears were tears from a good memory. We don’t intend to make you cry at the Video Crypt unless they are tears of happiness which we all need these days
