It started with one family’s grief. 🇳🇬🇨🇦
In 1993, a young Nigerian man in Calgary passed away after a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and children. His wish was to be buried back home. The few Nigerian families here at the time came together, stood with his family, and made sure he got home.
That is how the Nigerian-Canadian Association of Calgary (NCAC) began. Not with a committee or a constitution, but with people who refused to let one of their own walk through loss alone.
33 years later, that same spirit is training entrepreneurs and tradespeople, welcoming newcomers, running passport intervention programs, and bringing us together in ways that remind us we belong to something bigger.
If you have ever asked how you can serve God, this is one way. Caring for people is the Lord’s work, and it is happening right here in Calgary.
