Welcome to THE BACKROOMS! We let Ollie (who is 8) choose his costume every Halloween. He seen the Backrooms movie? No. Has he seen the online series? Nah. Does he think it is the absolute coolest story of the year and that The Bacteria monster was the ULTIMATE costume choice? YES ABSOLUTELY. Me and @matpatgt backed him up as usual, this time going as an ASync researcher and... a wall, respectively. Also just wanted to call out that I gained TWO new crafting skills this year: wallpapering wrapping paper onto cardboard, and sewing 196 pipe cleaners into spandex. These will clearly serve me into the future.

Give us (more memes) Top of La Liga so I’m not sure Barca fans will be too triggered with this one πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚ Like this post? Follow for ALL the best football memes. βœ”οΈ ______________________________________________________ Barcelona have been one of the most entertaining teams in European football this season, with Hansi Flick’s side continuing to play an exciting, attacking brand of football. Led by the brilliance of Lamine Yamal, alongside the likes of Raphinha, Pedri and FermΓn LΓ³pez, the Catalan giants have made a flying start to their La Liga campaign, winning 10 of their opening 11 matches and scoring an incredible 46 goals. Despite recent defeats to Real Madrid in El ClΓ‘sico and PSG in the Champions League, Barcelona responded in emphatic fashion with a 6-1 demolition of AlavΓ©s to remain top of the Spanish league. With their young stars continuing to shine and Flick’s attacking philosophy producing goals for fun, Barcelona are looking like serious contenders for major silverware once again.
15 years ago, I had a silly little blog about US elections (that absolutely nobody read πŸ˜…)… I was thinking about it a lot this week as, all this time later, it really means a lot to be reporting on the US midterms as a correspondent in DC. To have the chance to get out on the road, follow the issues, delve into what matters to people and try to get a sense of how the country is feeling at a moment when both parties are at a crossroads. I’m always grateful when people give up their time and share their views… from Iowa, Texas, Florida, Maryland and Virginia… and even here in DC. It was great to have @fergalobrien_ and the Morning Ireland team across the Atlantic throughout the madness. Always thanks to my sidekick @zagorski.artur!! πŸŽ₯ Now, I suppose, the 2028 presidential election begins… an open field for both parties. The Midterms certainly felt like a warm-up.
