Biscayne Bay is part of who we are. It's where our families spend their weekends, where our neighbors make a living, and it deserves our care every day.
That's why I joined neighbors for Baynanza, Miami-Dade County's Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day. Since 1982, this tradition has brought our community together to clear trash and debris from our shoreline, and every bag we filled made a real difference for the water we all share.
Protecting the bay takes more than one morning of work. I secured $500,000 for the Biscayne Bay Watershed Plan so we can address the pollution and water quality challenges facing our bay at the source. Clean water and healthy shorelines are worth the effort.
Thank you to everyone who came out with gloves on and sleeves rolled up. Let's keep showing up for Biscayne Bay.
