Not in scary south Minneapolis, but a guy behind me in line at the grocery store a couple years ago watched me call all my credit cards to see if there was an available balance, and when there wasn't, I was pulling things out that I couldn't pay for (I thought there was money available). He handed the cashier $40 and just told me to pay it forward. Tiny little Minnesota town near me, and I think of him often.
