My God, what a show. Ever since I was a little jit, Iwas completely obsessed with Green Lantern. I remember I used to make my own power rings out of cardboard and bottle caps. Over time, though, that love fizzled out thanks to years of terrible mainstream portrayals.

This show hit me at a time when I was an absolute bhondu wreck, and I connected with both leads on a deeply personal level. I knew exactly how John felt having destiny, a title and heavy responsibility thrust onto him, and I related to Hal’s struggle. holding on to that same title while completely burnt out, feeling like a shadow of his former self. What a wonderful, melancholic conclusion. 

I’m endlessly excited for Man of Tomorrow and the future of the DCU. I’m just so grateful we got a grounded, character driven drama instead of CGI slop, empty hype and aura moments, or forced cameos setting up future projects. 

The Gunn never jams.
