In Spring 2026, we brought together 20 talented Latino journalists, content creators, and civil society leaders for an 8-week training at the intersection of artificial intelligence, information ecosystems and democracy.

As part of the program, each participant has been developing a final project applying LMDP learnings to their professional work.

@belen.quellet’s Community Commons combines an evolving parent guide, “AI at Home” resources, and community conversations, all shaped with trusted partners. The first partner, Comunidad, will host a parent listening session to guide the next phase.

Putting her LMDP training in AI and fact-checking to work, @carliana.co created group chat briefs that use custom AI translation prompts and natural-sounding AI audio to deliver verified legal information straight to family group chats.

Using AI methods from her LMDP training, @celiaemontoya cross-verified a large, complex dataset on her own, which made this kind of data-heavy reporting possible without a newsroom behind her. The story takes on the lack of transparency in immigration enforcement.
