Looking ahead to Art Basel Paris where we are presenting a new project by Rosario Aninat & Simon Shim-Sutcliffe in the Emergence sector.
The presentation features a new body of sculptures reimagining two ancient Chinese ritual forms: the cong, an inner cylinder enveloped by a square exterior representing the earth, and the bi, a flat disk symbolizing the celestial plane.
Crafted from stone, glass, plaster, metal, and wood, the works consider how cosmological geometries, particularly the enduring concept that “Heaven is round, Earth is square”, can be reactivated within contemporary spatial realities.
@rosarioaninat @simonshimsutcliffe Art Basel Paris opens October 21st and continues until October 25th.
