Lion is the kind of film that turns a simple search for home into an incredibly moving cinematic experience. Based on the true story of Saroo Brierley, the film follows his journey from being lost as a child in India to searching for his biological family 25 years later.

Directed by Garth Davis, the film features powerful performances from Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara, David Wenham, and especially Sunny Pawar, whose portrayal of young Saroo is unforgettable. The cinematography by Greig Fraser and the emotional score by Dustin O’Halloran and Volker Bertelmann elevate the film beautifully.

A remarkable fact: Lion received 6 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and won 2 BAFTAs for Dev Patel’s Supporting Actor performance and Best Adapted Screenplay. It also won 12 AACTA Awards.

A heartfelt, visually stunning story about identity, family and the meaning of home quietly devastating and impossible to forget.
