De ce au unele hanorace un triunghi la decolteu? Detaliul pe care astăzi îl observăm ca decor avea inițial un rol practic.

Numită „V-insert” sau „V-gusset”, inserția triunghiulară din tricot, cunoscut drept patent, permitea decolteului să se întindă mai ușor la îmbrăcare și ajuta la limitarea deformării în timp. Potrivit Russell Athletic, avea și rolul de a absorbi transpirația.

Povestea sa este legată de începuturile sweatshirtului modern și de echipamentul pentru fotbal american din anii 1920. Pe unele modele vechi, triunghiul apărea atât în față, cât și la spate, o construcție numită „Double V”.

Astăzi, pe multe bluze, a rămas doar conturul cusut, fără inserția separată din patent. Aspect asemănător, construcție diferită.
