Rainbow Realness, a rainbow-themed costume contest fundraiser for the Gilbert Baker Foundation, happens on Thursday, October 29, 6-8 PM at Henrietta Hudson, located at 438 Hudson Street in NYC.
A quick history: Gilbert Baker created the Rainbow Flag in 1978, and the Foundation works to protect his legacy. When the National Park Service under Trump's anti-LBBTQ policies removed the Pride flag from Stonewall National Monument this year, the Foundation joined Village Preservation and Equality New York, represented by Lambda Legal, and sued to get it back. In April we won, and the flag was restored under a court-enforceable settlement.
The Gilbert Baker Foundation continues to advocate for the LGBTQ community. Here's your chance to support us while celebrating Halloween in style!
