The 26th of September marked the European Language Day ✨

In the last couple of weeks we got to reflect a lot on languages, and to what extent they are a tool, not just to communicate, but to connect with each other on a deeper level 💛

On September 18-20, we got to participate as observers in the first phase of the European Citizens Panel that took place in Brussels, where 150 randomly selected citizens from all over Europe got together to discuss and share their views and experiences on democratic resilience. During these three days, over 200 interpreters worked tirelessly to connect these citizens through the 24 official EU Languages: experiencing such complex live-interpreting and seeing all these professionals in their interpretation booth, switching from one language to another has been inspiring!

This year, we celebrated the European Languages Day with our very own Language Café on September 28th, hosted by our EUROPE DIRECT Center in Luxembourg-City.

Participants had the opportunity to practice a new language, share their language skills with others, exchange experiences and get to know each other, and simply enjoy the moment ☕️

We’re in awe of the power of languages to create bridges and make connections, and we look forward to the next Language Café!
