Documenting my journey back to the gym.
This year has been crazy, but that’s not an excuse, it’s a reality. After I broke my big toe pretty horribly (dropped 50 lbs straight on it), I couldn’t walk for over a month. Even now, after 8 months, I cannot a plank or any exercise which puts pressure on my toes.
.
That doesn’t mean I was sedentary these 8 months.
As soon as I could walk a bit, my lovely neighbor and I started working out every morning 6:30am. We focused on slow paced, light weight exercises( and I modified mine to let my toe heal). Too bad I only stuck to it for about 2 months or so!
.
Starting a business is hard. And my schedule has been all over the place. And I try to add a bit of workout here and there - but nothing consistently. I’m still struggling to keep a timely routine since I started working for myself, but it’s getting better.
.
So I must admit that since restarting gym this week - things have already been so much better. There is nothing that affects your mind, body and soul than movement! Working out at my age doesn’t need a fitness goal or a personal record. To me it just means showing up everyday. No big plans - just show up and move.
