Hi wow it has been almost one whole year since Marissa and Nick’s moody, romantic fall wedding at Barcelona in Mexico City and I still haven’t posted any pics about it. You couldn’t possibly dream up a better intimate wedding. It was complete with a mariachi band, candles galore, and a churro cart. I haven’t shared any pics yet bc I am still getting over it 🥀💋🍷💌
Also, working weddings internationally puts so much of our wild, over-the-top American shit into context !!!! By our standards, Marissa and Nick’s day was an incredibly low-key: no shot list, no wedding party, all candid photos, 10 minutes of portrait time with M&N, and a mega-long cocktail ‘hour.’ By CDMX standards, we were still doing wayyy too much. The planner and local staff were literally gooped and gagged that we needed to take a long list of family photos. They were confused why we needed portrait time of the marriers. They were like “huh???????” when I asked if I could take pictures of the tables before the guests sat down. And they were confused why I didn’t have time to sit and take an elongated dinner for myself. ¡LOL! definitely made me reflect on why the heck we all think we need to take all these pictures. There are no rules!!! Do we need a picture of everything? What is ‘everything’ to you?
Also also, I love Nick and Marissa so much. They are some of the greatest people I know and am proud to call them my friends. They planned a wedding for the ages and I am honored I got to be a small part of it.
