Looking back at NYC Civic Corps orientation!
Over two weeks, our newest cohort of AmeriCorps members got to know one another, learned about program expectations, and prepared for the year of service ahead.
Through trainings on SMART goals, service journey mapping, and key skills in volunteer management, community outreach, and program development, members built a foundation for their roles. They also welcomed a special guest: @americorps CEO Jennifer Bastress Tahmasebi!
Members put service into action through projects across the city, including the 9/11 Day of Service at the Intrepid Museum and a garden cleanup with @bronx_special_kids during Community Exploration Day, an opportunity to explore the boroughs they’ll be serving.
With new skills, connections, and a shared commitment to service, our newest members are ready to make a difference across NYC. #ServeNYC
