Everyone who works has a personnel file. Starting November 8, New York lets you read yours.
Most people never see what’s in their file. The new law changes that. You’ll be able to:
1. Ask in writing for a copy, and get it within five business days
2. Receive an alert within ten days when something negative goes in
3. Add your own statement if you disagree, and it stays in the file
Save this for November 8. The full article is at the link in bio.
Quiet Ally provides strategic HR guidance and does not offer legal advice.
