We've already talked a lot about WHAT is happening 10/23 (doors 6pm), but we haven't talked a lot about our partnership with @newaves4youth or our collaboration with @adxportland for ADX Fest.
New Avenues for Youth - New Avenues is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention and intervention of youth homelessness. Many of today's youth are being heavily impacted by the current administration's gross negligence and malicious attacks on programs designed to help and uplift them; as well as direct harm being inflicted on LGBTQIA2S+ youth. We believe that organizations like New Avenues are needed now more than ever, and we feel immensely honored to work alongside them.
With our partnership, all ticket sales go DIRECTLY to them. We will have a QR code set up to where you scan, donate the $10 ticket fee, and it will go to their accounts so there's no middle people, no Venmo fees, and no worries that not all the money from this is theirs.
ADX Fest - ADX Fest is a month long city-wide event celebrating Portland's creative independents. But what does that mean? ADX is a local, woman founded, owned, and operated creative collective here in the heart of SE Portland. This month-long event is to celebrate their 15 years of bringing creatives of all mediums together in one place with the goal of uplifting Portland's strong and spirited art community.
Why did we want to take part in ADX Fest, and why New Avenues? Community is everything, especially now. Sometimes it can be hard to find, so we wanted to do our part to create a night where community comes together with one goal in mind, to uplift vulnerable members of our community during a particularly trying and difficult time. The world is challenging for all of us, so we wanted to be a small light for one night, where you get to be young and silly without the guilt that you're "switching off." You get to come out, have fun, and know it means something to someone somewhere in Portland.
We hope to see you there!
