23 days ago@hagomusic I’m wanting n to get into the music industry as a songwriter. How do I even get started? How did you break into the industry? Any tips would be so appreciated
25 days agoIt’s been dead for a long time, it’s just rap and a little rnb and no one is making any money
25 days agoIf you’re an artist…nyc is amazing. If you’re trying to write for other artists….gotta stay in LA :)
25 days agoNYC music scene is fun!! It’s small but it’s cute, have seen more ppl come from la over the last few years, however everyone I know still takes frequent trips out to la bc not as many artists come through here
a month agoIt sucks! At least for me, I feel like I can never find a group of ppl who want to collaborate in songwriting. Feels gatekeepy to me
a month agoIt’s really interesting! I would say LA is stronger in terms of true industry vibes but NY has soooo much. Many record labels based here (republic) and huge music scene, venues, studios, constant shows and performances etc. I think it’s more pervasive in LA tho in my experience
a month agoThe nyc music scene is amazing! Lots of musicians and people to work with. I’d say the live scene is similar to LA tho in terms of pay to play. I’m from LA but go to NYC a lot for sessions and what not. I’d love to live there at some point
