Dr. Ayushi Dixit and I started on fasting insulin and went full tangent: homocysteine is linked to hypertension and higher stroke risk, but there are no studies showing that lowering the number makes the risk go away. Lp(a) is a genetic marker of heart disease, but a recent trial lowered it without reducing heart attacks.
So if it's abnormal… what do you do with it?
