The historic heart of Cambridge is a wonderful place to explore on foot, with centuries of architectural history lining the route from Trumpington Street, along King’s Parade and Senate House Hill, to Trinity Street and St John’s Street.
From the Perpendicular Gothic of King’s College Chapel to the classical elegance of the Senate House and the Tudor brickwork of the colleges further north, the streetscape brings together an extraordinary range of architectural styles, shaped by the university’s development over several centuries.
One of the things I love about this part of Cambridge is the sheer density of historic buildings, each with its own story to tell.
