Before NAILPEX, there was my mum. 🤎

She’s the reason I fell in love with nail paints, nail art and caring for my natural nails. I was around 14–15 when I started growing my nails and learning how to look after them, often inspired by watching her care for hers.

Yesterday, as I filed her nails and applied Nail Ritual, we found ourselves reliving those little memories. The nail paints, the nail art, the little things she taught me without even realising she was teaching me.

Today, she spends more time gardening than painting her nails. Her hands tell their own story, but that little ritual of caring for her nails still feels just as special.

And perhaps that’s what natural nail care has always meant to me. Not perfect nails. Not the longest nails. Just taking care of a little part of ourselves, and carrying forward the things we learned from the women who raised us.

Fifteen years of caring for my natural nails later, I’m building something inspired by that very feeling. 🤎
