A year ago, I published a book about six athletes and tried to define Emerging Champions through them.

Today I'm announcing the One Year Anniversary Edition. The original six profiles are exactly as I wrote them, and this edition adds a foreword from videographer and friend Ian Mangra, a French essay on the international athletes of the DMV, a story about the day I stopped covering an athlete and joined his team, an update on where the original six are now, and a closing essay on the year in between.

A year is a lot, a little, and a chance.

Thank you to the eleven athletes who trusted me with their stories, to Ian for the words up front, and to everyone who read the first edition and made a second one possible.

Print copies of the One Year Anniversary Edition arrive later this month. Hit the pre-order form link in my bio to be the first to receive the book.
