Md Yazzit

Found this audio recording in my old Hard Drive. Need to share this journey i had with an awesome band and people that i truly love playing with back then.

19 years ago , @riduanzalani setup the band “sonofa” with a vision of playing electronic music Organically. I’m glad to be a part of this project.

We rehearsed , experimented with sounds fx, played a few gigs and performed at some festivals regionally.

I remembered recording this song using ableton with the wrong gain structure through an 8 channel behringer mixer through an m-audio interface (rca input and with very little knowledge about recording) with the help of the band.

These are the only pictures i can get from my facebook . Haha.

Sorry if i left anyone out , it wasn’t intentional.

Here’s a little info of the band .

SONOFA was a prominent local electronic-fusion band based in Singapore. Known for their high-energy live sets, they specialized in blending Electronic Dance Music (EDM) with traditional percussive elements, didgeridoo, and global folk rhythms.

Spear headed by Riduan Zalani,

Key Highlights

• Active Era: The group was heavily active in the live performance and festival circuit during the late 2000s and early 2010s.
• Signature Sound: Their unique style merged traditional or acoustic instrumentation—such as collaborations with local percussion group Nadi Singapura’s Muhammad Riduan Zalani—with hard-hitting electronic beats.
• Notable Gigs: They frequently performed at local underground music events, including Good Times nights at Blu Jaz, and represented Singapore regionally at regional festivals such as the SIEM Festival 2010 in Indonesia.
