THREE WEEKS TO RESCUE OUR CHILDREN FROM THIS.

Right outside the Yes! Organic Market, just steps from the Petworth Metro.

A group of youth acting out, open drug transactions happening in plain sight, and an entire commercial corridor left to fend for itself.

A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed right here—an innocent child just going to and from school, caught in the crossfire of reckless street beefs. We have seen shootings around Petworth and Georgia Avenue happen almost weekly.

When we sounded the alarm and warned MPD about the open-air drug sales taking over our Metro entrances, critics in the comments actually argued: “Why bother raising it? Drug sales aren’t a violent threat.”

Tell that to the family of the 17-year-old girl who didn’t make it home.

Tell that to the mothers pushing strollers, the elderly seniors waiting for the bus, and the young girls walking home who have to dodge gunfire, dealers, and harassment every single afternoon. When you tolerate illegal drug distribution at transit hubs, violent crime and bullets inevitably follow.

What makes this unconscionable is that this is happening right down the street from Councilmember Janeese Lewis George’s own home.

Yet the Council acts like this is acceptable. They act like open street dealing and youth self-destruction are no big deal.
We are losing a generation.

When our kids are smoking weed all day, cognitive development slows and academic performance collapses. When consumption is normalized across households, developmental defects and learning hurdles compound in our classrooms.

The consequences are already on paper: 71% of D.C. students are failing math at grade level, and chronic truancy reaches 84% in our high schools.

Janeese had no problem voting for $7.4 Billion to sports stadium subsidies, while budgeting just $8.6 Million citywide for grassroots youth after-school programs. She and the sellouts running DC government abandoned our children, and now everyday residents are paying the price in blood and fear.

We have 21 days left.

My deepest condolences to the family. 💔🙏🏾 These cowards hide behind guns, taking innocent lives like they’re playing a game. 😈 Let me tell you something: Allah sees everything, and justice may take time, but nobody escapes accountability forever. And to those who know who did it but choose to stay silent, remember this: your silence protects the guilty and denies the innocent justice. Stop glorifying the streets and start standing for what’s right. Real courage is protecting life, not taking it. 🕊️💯

Kids don’t need a adult account they know how to make fake accounts and get online banking attached so they can do that scam door dash and order go puff… how did metro and a scooter end up in this conversation? Metro is blocks away not even in plain site from there its not wrong to hold these kids accountable for the stuff they know they not suppose to be doing… the youth who do the violence see these ppl blaming everybody and continue to do the same shit.
