The Gallery as placeholder for God knows the betrayals each one of us has felt, the gnashing of teeth, the little “white” lies you’ve told on others or under oath, as well as the lies in your fearful jealous little heart you’ve barely managed to utter (but always do anyway).
And now the whole wide (art) world will know too.

CONFESSIONS
A project by The Gallery, conceived in collaboration with Thalia Stefaniuk for Minor Attractions, London
Confessions transforms one shower of The Newman Hotel into a temporary confessional booth.
There is almost nothing to see.
Inside the shower, a single piece of paper that reads:
CONFESSIONS
+13474609656
Visitors are invited to enter the shower, close the door behind them, and call or text the number.
On the other end is The Gallery.
For the entire duration of Minor Attractions, The Gallery will be available 24 hours a day to receive confessions. Visitors can confess as much or as little as they want. A sentence of guilt, a dirty secret, a little regret, an old lie, a hot desire, something banal, something they have just never told anyone, or simply whatever feels necessary at that particular moment.
There is no gallerist, priest, therapist, artist or visible audience. For the duration of the fair, The Gallery becomes the confessor.
