About a week before Christmas 1974 LB on a smaller Pipe Wave that day. I watched Larry surf Big Pipe for an hour and got a feel to surf it . Next day it was 6-8 and clean and I went for my first Pipe Surf without a leash. Got a couple rights and one Bomb Left. Got worked on the Left and in the rip for 15 minutes. Butch was lifeguarding he paddle out to me and told me how to swim in!!! 🫡 Timmy C at VLand same day.

Who’s LB Larry Blair saw that dude Surf brake wall in 83 on the biggest day I’ve ever seen were giant and perfect. I was in the eighth grade.

Thank you for your pics and recollections. I m a Harbor area surfer from close to the same time frame. It truly was a GREAT time for surfing, Thanks again....
