I have an exciting Autumn update 🍂 🙌🏽 Returning to the very studios where my journey began in the beautiful building of the @birmingham_school_of_art , where I completed my BA in Fine Art. I am back in this space studying for my MA in Arts and Education Practices. This opportunity has been made possible by being awarded the Gertrude Bowater Scholarship, for which I am deeply honoured and grateful. 🙏🏽🥲Huge thanks to Beth Derbyshire and Cathy Wade!! 🙏🏽🥹💚

I have stepped into this chapter with wide-eyed gratitude, deeply aware that across the globe, too many people are denied the fundamental human right to learn. Education belongs to everyone, yet systemic barriers leave so many locked out. As a South Asian visual artist, I am using this Master’s degree to turn my research and creative practice into an act of active resistance — breaking down institutional barriers, decolonising the curriculum, and challenging colonial structures in Western education. ✊🏽✊🏾

It has already been an amazing start to this journey, and I’m also over the moon to have access to a darkroom and a studio space again! YAAY! There is so much to unpack about creative pedagogy and I’m definitely on a learning curve. I’m excited to see how my work develops and transforms in this creative space. 😬😍
