#happysunday everyone - hope yours is rejuvenating. Ok so I look totally bedraggled but just had the most snuggly weekend with my girlie bezzies - and this was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much @antheaturner for my new Discovery Set - so cute. Not an ad by the way have genuinely loved this since anthea and another friend showed me their first trial pot. So proud of what she’s created . #womensupportingwomen It’s got its work cut out with me but luckily the @gmb #glamsquad will be on hand tomorrow morning to try to wrestle me into broadcast mode! See you 6.am xxx

Saturday Snapshots! 📸

What a week! Between trying to figure out how many times I’m actually paying for storage with my email account and setting up my own Netflix account with a little FaceTime assistance from my son, I’m feeling pretty tech-savvy these days! 🙌 considering two months ago I didn’t even know how to use the remotes.

I also squeezed in three photo shoots, 📷 whew!

Next up, a visit from one of my high school
girlfriends. 👯‍♀️

And while there were no trick-or-treaters knocking on my door, I do have a question for all you grandmas…

Have you heard about NeeDohs?! Apparently, they’re the latest craze! Parents are standing in line for hours, and stores can’t keep them on the shelves. Reminds me of the Cabbage Patch Kids and Beanie Babies
frenzy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ And my granddaughters have already warned me to stay clear of the imposters!

Happy Halloween 🧙‍♀️🎃

My Best Friend, My Brother. — These are just some of many pictures over the years. Celebrating a rare soul, a lifelong friendship, and his musical legacy that changed the world.

I met Juan Atkins in 1982. Every time we ran into one another, he would ask me if I worked at a grocery store, beyond convinced he’d seen me there. To which I would always tell him, no man, everybody just look like me. That went on for about a year, until he finally stopped asking me and became curious about who I actually was. Looking back, it’s funny how something so simple led to one of the most meaningful friendships of my life.

Our friendship was about so much more than just making music. He would come pick me up, just to hang out. Whether that was to go to parties or to simply play our music at Belle Isle. We traveled to New York and Miami for music conferences. We laughed together. We even cut each other’s hair. As time went on, I got to know the people closest to him. His grandmother, whom he idolized, his brothers, his sister, and his mother. They became like family to me, and my family became his.

We were in our early 20s, navigating a new frontier with no blueprint. Those were some of the best times of my life: yes, we were having fun, but the friendship we were building was invaluable. I knew our friendship had reached another level when Juan started sharing his music with me and asking for my opinion. I felt honored. He trusted my ears, and I trusted his.

We grew even closer, impassioned by our mutual love for music, learning, and creating. Eventually, it became simple: if you saw Juan, you saw Eddie. If you saw Eddie, you saw Juan. In 1985, he helped me put together my first studio, teaching me how to create my own music, how to manipulate sound through synthesizers and MIDIs. And by 1986, he released my first record, “Goodbye Kiss,” under his label, Metroplex.

The international media may know the records and the parties, but they don’t know the everyday moments that made us brothers.

And I like it that way. Some things belong only to the people who lived them.

He wasn’t just my friend. He was my brother. And I am my brother’s keeper.

Rest in Power, Juan 🖤
