🔶 MEET ELIZABETH ANDERSON 🔶
As part of the Whau Arts Festival satellite programme, discover a new exhibition by artist Elizabeth Anderson, capturing the beauty and fleeting moments of everyday life through drawing. ✍🏼
Elizabeth Anderson is an artist and observational drawer who has spent the past seven years working primarily with Procreate on her iPad. Her current practice focuses on drawing from life and capturing people, places and everyday moments in informal settings like Browne St Café in Avondale, her home.
The majority of the works in this new exhibition were drawn quietly at Browne St Café over the past year, often with a hot coffee in hand. This continues Elizabeth’s long-standing interest in finding the extraordinary in ordinary, familiar places. She is attracted to the transient nature of cafes…the floating world where everything is in a state of flux.
She studied graphic design at Wellington School of Design, worked in print design studios and at BBC Television in the UK, and holds an MFA from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland.
