Look people——imma TRY to skip my usual mile long rant (my first draft was TOO long) —-I’ll just say this: do not let YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER leave theaters without you seeing it.

I stand by ALL my co-signs of the past——-but NO film of this intensity has floored me like this in a minute——-yeah it’s got the thrills, the suspense, the battle scenes, the “oh snap I know what’s comin nex——-OMG I DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING!!!!!!!” twists——-but the real thing? The HEART of it——-Mahershala Ali (@mahershalaali ) is man…..I think I can say with credibility acting like his life depends on it. This is NO doubt his best work & kudos to Bassam Tariq (@curry_crayola ) for really giving these characters DEPTH —-I mean the subtle storm of faith, grief & fatherhood hit me harder than any fight scene in it——-it’s integrity, betrayal, strength, weakness, adrenaline & redemption. I wanna praise the entire cast for how masterful they came with it.

Not since “Parasite” & “Everything Everywhere…..” have I wanted a film to take ALL the kudos——-and don’t hit me with “eh I’ll wait til it streams”——-I’m not with the company & this ain’t an obligatory post——-I’m just floored. Go.
