🇬🇧: The story behind Atma

Atma is Sanskrit for the self, the soul. That's exactly what this track is to me: a look inwards that turns into a lot of power in the drop.
It all started with the vocal. When I found it, it touched me deeply right away because it reminded me of my time in India.
During my yoga teacher training there, we meditated and sang mantras every morning.
Mantras are chants that gather inner strength. That's the feeling I wanted to create with the vocals: how they play with each other and build each other up until the energy is released in the drop.
Atma was one of my first projects, started over a year ago, with almost 40 versions since. I probably changed everything at least once because I learned so much along the way: arrangement, kick & bass, vocals, drums.
Right before the deadline I did a completely new mixdown, including the final touches in a tent at Moyn.
Two weeks later I played the final version for the first time at Mystic. The crowd reaction made me cry 🥹
