BABY HEDGEHOG IN OUR GARDEN!!🦔
This is Sooooo exciting! We have never had a hedgehog in our garden before... some of you may know the funny hedgehog tale involving a neighbour (see my blog) and then we couldn't take the hedgehog bec they need an 'escape route' so they've never found their way in before either.... but as you can see they have now!! One silver lining of having a knackered fence... and oh how cute is it! Snuffling around looking for grubs ! As you might hear...Bernard the chicken took the opportunity to sneak into the house during the excitement and the cats and next doors rabbits ignored it completely!

So when we sort the fence in spring def going to have to have a hedgehog exit strategy... but how without the bunnies getting through too?

Ps don't think we'll need to make it a box... plenty of under shed spaces between us & next door!

HEDGEHOG UPDATE. after speaking to the local hedgehog rescue our neighbours managed to catch the little hoglet (that's what baby hedgehogs are called!) and they came and collected it. It will be looked after by them until its ready to be released back into the wild ❤️ That might be somewhere safer or if they think it's suitable back in our area. Either way they'll do what best for the little hedgey! Was so lovely to watch it for a bit 😍🦔

Oh no! Covid…. Didn’t realise it was still about that much… Hope you’re doing ok ? Cute hoglet! 🦔 we’ve had a few adults in the garden - they’re surprisingly quick! 😀

Ok so have done some research and seeing a young hedgehog in the daytime can mean they're hungry so Im gonna phone the hedgehog rescue and ask for advice cos we want v to make sure the hoglets ok . Looks healthy enough but def need to ask the experts!😍
