Vice President JD Vance delivered a final pitch to voters on the eve of the midterm elections, which he called "the most important" of his lifetime.

"I'm closing out this midterm campaign right where it all started for me, the great state of Ohio, because I know you're going to choose right tomorrow," he said from an airport hangar in Swanton.

The vice president said the Democratic Party no longer stands for working people or "commonsense values," urging voters to support Republican candidates up and down the ballot.

"I wish that still existed in the Democratic Party. But ladies and gentlemen, it does not," he said. "The only game in town for low taxes, for commonsense and for patriotic American values … it's the Republican Party and don't forget it tomorrow."

I had the best day on the best day to be in the best city in the world.

Can’t imagine a more meaningful way to mark my new relationship with running than to serve as run support for former Army Master Sergeant @cedrickingmsg — a purple-hearted double above-the-knee amputee due to stepping on an IED.

A victory for me to just make it to the start, crossing the finish with Cedric was a peak never-will-I-forget life experience.

Rewinding back a year and half, my spine surgeon said I should forget about running. Forget that, I thought. So, I baked up a plan and began plotting my way in.

For the first seven months of my spinal fusion recovery, only slow walking. I began PT on month 8, with light strength training starting a few weeks after that.

Since then, I’ve been in my home gym by the four o’clock hour, every single day aside from a handful of exceptions.

To celebrate 1 year post-op, I ran my first mile, a slow one with @dan_churchill. From there, I patiently pursued a six-month relationship with my treadmill, careful to never push with a first-for-me less-is-best philosophy.

As a consequence of caution, I can’t say I was exactly ready for the NYC marathon, as my run training consisted of two weekly 5-mile run-walks.

Nevertheless, I decided to give it a go. And I’m delighted I did. The spine did fine. And despite my lack of aerobic conditioning, my body held up long enough to cross the finish line.

Striding alongside Cedric is the how. Taking my strength from his kept me connected to my higher power.

The why. While running again was my goal, Cedric confirmed that my purpose is service.

Now 60 and now on the other side of my season of forced repose, I have greater clarity on what matters. Not so much about ego gratification anymore, what wakes me up is more giving of myself to other people.

If you want a big and beautiful life, make it about something much larger than yourself.

Thx @achilles_international for your incredible work. @joechura for recruiting me into this adventure & @cedrickingmsg for your strength, and infectious inspiration.

And thank you NYC. You remain undefeated. You leave me hopeful.

See you next year.

Running blades are fun. 😃 And.. dressing up when you have prosthetic legs is always fun!

I pulled this from the Halloween archives from before my leg injury. By the way, I can’t wait until I get my leg fitting good enough to be able to wear these again. ❤️

Happy Halloween weekend everyone!🧡🎃🧡

NEXT WEDNESDAY. WSHB/JODIE SWEETIN.
Next week, I sit down with my friend since childhood. Jodie and I have always moved to our own rhythm together. Her story is incredible for so many reasons. So grateful I got to sit down with her in a little bit of a different way. She is unafraid to be herself. In a world where people are terrified to do so these days. I’m so proud to be able to share a little bit more about my friend with you guys. Available wherever you stream your podcasts. All links in bio. I know I say it a lot, but I gotta keep reminding you guys. Even just pushing follow on our podcast pages Spotify, iTunes, YouTube. You have no idea how much it helps. It’s the only way we’re able to keep bringing this to you guys week after week. We’ve gotten the most incredible feedback and I’m sure as you’ve seen we’ve been able to reach into a really special pocket of the 90s. Sending so much love to all of you. The amount of requests that I got for this one is insane. Next Wednesday. The one and only. 🥹 #jodiesweetin #fullhouse #fullerhouse #tgif #werestillherebabe
