Only here because a friend had her old style hat split when she came off. She suffered a skull fracture. 4472 skull cap purchased next day. 1 week later my horse fell and I hot my head on the nearest wall, as you do.

I rode at a time when hats were fashionable but not straps. I remember cutting the strap out. Looked terrific in that Moss Bros hat with its luxuriant deep black velvet but it was quite useless of course..

As a teenager the place with a we were allowed to ride wouldn’t let us ride WITHOUT a helmet back in the 1970s. In 2013 a helmet saved my life! Grade 1 para equestrian. @sylvianmcdonald

I have a policy of not hitting like for photos of riders without helmets but I love this message enough to break my rule Thank you
