Cocoa Capital PLC, a subsidiary of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has officially rolled out its bond and note programme, on the Ghana Fixed Income Market through the Ghana Stock Exchange.
This move forms part of the government’s cocoa sector reforms, which included a new funding model of cocoa financing domestically.
The initiative is a major step towards raising GH¢16.30 billion, comprising GHc14 billion commercial paper and Ghc2. 30 billion bond designed to support cocoa purchases for the 2026/27 cocoa season.
It also highlights a significant shift towards mobilising funds from Ghana’s domestic capital market, diversifying financing sources and reducing reliance on external borrowing.
According COCOBOD and key partners of the programme, the exercise is expected to strengthen cocoa sector financing and support the continued purchase of cocoa beans from farmers across the country.
