You can communicate all day and still feel completely alone in your relationship.

That’s why some couples don’t actually have a communication problem.

They have a connection problem.

They’re talking.
They’re explaining.
They’re arguing.
They’re repeating themselves.

But underneath all of it, they’re asking:

Do I matter to you?
Can I count on you?
Are we okay?

Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t learning how to say it better.

It’s understanding what the other person is really asking for underneath the words.

Such a good point. Sometimes couples don't have a communication problem, they just want to feel heard and understood. ❤️

So powerful! 💯 'Communication problem vs Connection problem' is such a game-changing distinction. Love this perspective! 🤍👏

I’m in the middle of a divorce because I found out my partner is a narcissist. :/ sadly they don’t connect well. I hope he gets the help he needs. And sooner or later I know I’ll find love that’s healthy 😍

Which one is usually underneath the fight for you: “Do I matter?”, “Can I count on you?”, or “Are we okay?”
