January comes during winter in the North, the time we will begin our Inaugural Botanical Immersion.
We chose perimenopause rage as the topic for 2027. An opportunity to slow down, sit with the wisdom of the plants and get curious about the very real human experience of intense fire rising from deep within at an empowering crossroads in life.
I remember Asha being the first person I asked to join the faculty, having just read her book, “You Are the Medicine.” When she agreed to lead us in our immersion, it gave me hope.
She is a best selling author, indigenous healer and a speaker on the medicine within. She’s recently released her new book, The Inner Winter, Indigenous Wisdom for Slow Medicine, Rest, and Renewal in Every Season.
Her life work is to help you to connect to the medicine that has always been within you. The spark. The illumination. The power. It’s all there, waiting to be seen, felt and claimed.
Asha grew up on and currently lives on Anishinaabe, Huron-Wendat and Haudenosaunee land. Her maternal and paternal lineage and relatives originate from many First Nations across Ontario, Canada (Turtle Island). Asha is from the Crane Clan (Aji-jaak Dodem) and holds membership at Neyaashiinigmiig (Cape Croker) First Nation.
She believes if you are drawn to Indigenous Medicine ways, that you too, have power and beauty in your own lineage waiting to be discovered.
