Third marathon of the year, first time running @nycmarathon and easily one of the best experiences of my life. Spent months training for this thing, but somewhere along the way life got insanely busy, my mental health took a hit, and I realized I needed to change my expectations. So I said screw the finish time, ran almost the entire race with my best friend, made some ridiculous content, somehow ended up with three cigarettes, and had the time of my life. My knee hated me, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Sometimes you just have to stop taking yourself so seriously and enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to build. You only get one first NYC Marathon. Glad I did mine this way. ❤️
