🥇 Country Swing All American JnJ at @swingtober with @jadenpfeifferdance

Wow! Where do I even begin with this one. This is about to be super vulnerable post.

I was so nervous for this competition when I saw I drew Jaden 😅 we had never really danced before outside of a private I took recently with Kenzie.

I had so many doubts about my own dancing running through my head. Is my connection too heavy? Or not enough? Am I taking the correct steps or going too fast? And above all else, what if I’m not good enough for these dances?

It was so easy to get in my own head and let my own doubts, fears, and criticisms cloud my mentality and my dancing. I really didn’t even dance close to myself until finals… so about a whole 9 dances later 😅 whoops sorry Jaden 🤣🤣

It was super awesome to win, but above all else these dances and this competition taught me more about myself and my dance than I ever thought it would.

It’s so easy to be hard on ourselves over dance even when we’ve made huge improvements and growth since the last time we’ve stepped on a social or competitive floor. And this competition was a great reminder to remember that we should not only be kind to others, but also to ourselves in dance.

At the end of the day I’ve come so far since I started a little less than two years ago, and beginner me never would’ve dreamed of this moment for myself. My dancing certainly wasn’t perfect and I always have improvements I’m working on, but I still have so much to be proud of!

Thank you so much Jaden for being so kind, supportive, and encouraging every second of this competition and even hyping me up in finals once I started actually dancing like me 🤣 I truly enjoyed all of these dances but I think this one one of my favorites.
