Your fridge probably isn't plotting against you...

But after hackers reportedly turned up the temperature on supermarket fridges in France by exploiting outdated software, it's a good reminder that anything connected to the internet can become a target if it's not kept secure.

At home, that could be your smart TV, smart speaker, security camera, video doorbell or smart lights.

Your smart fridge, TV or speaker probably isn't a cybercriminal's first choice of target. But if connected devices aren't secured and kept up-to-date, they can create weak spots in your home network.

After all, the only thing your fridge should be doing is keeping the milk cold.
