Vitamin D toxicity happens when excessive amount of vitamin D buildup in the body, causing levels to become too high. This can increase calcium absorption and lead to high blood calcium (hypercalcemia) which can damage tissues such as kidneys.

This is why it’s so important to test, not guess and regularly run bloodwork! Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin, and therefore stays in the body for longer

How do you know if you’re taking too much? These are some of the red flags 🚩 to look out for.

◽️ taking more than 10,000 iu of vitamin D3 without lab confirmation
◽️ nausea, vomiting, fatigue, bone, pain, headaches, confusion, diarrhea, constipation, frequent urination, excessive thirst, irregular heartbeat, and kidney stones #wellness #health #southjersey #naturalwellness #functionalmedicine
