If cities are so awful and fearsome and un-American, as some in evangelical communities like to suggest, then why are so many of the children from those communities fleeing to them and finding home here?

Robert P. Jones is a writer who has investigated the mores and compromises of evangelical America in the age of Trump. I spoke with him about my new book, MAN IN THE MIRROR, and how cities should refuse to be cast as un-American as against evangelical America.

Love your work. I remember my brilliant gay dear friend in the 1980s telling me this same concept almost verbatim. [Sadly, add violence or sa to the story.]💔❤️‍🩹

Funny I am 7th generation Californian and when I started traveling the US for work I was shocked by the rest of the rest of the US except for NYC, Boulder, Chicago.

This is profound 🙌 And California is also a refuge for those of us who never felt accepted by the places where we were raised.
