On the campaign trail, I made a promise to South Carolinians: Lowering costs would be my top priority.

Today, I made my first stop as Senator-elect back on Shem Creek, where I first called on Washington to “lower the damn diesel.” I came back to make clear that my commitment hasn’t changed. I’ll work with anyone, regardless of party, to bring down costs for South Carolina families.

That’s also why I called Senator Tim Scott today. I’m ready to put politics aside, find common ground, and get to work delivering results for the people of South Carolina.

Fudge AI, etc. Recipe is Spicy Tofu Feta Saganaki (inspired by the Greek dish, not traditional I know so don’t come for me) with a quick Butterbean salad! 💫

Recipe makes three portions, per portion:
30g protein
14g fibre
15 different plants

US Vice President JD Vance joked that he looked more like an Iranian sheikh than an American vice president after dressing as Dumbledore from Harry Potter for Halloween. He said he wore the costume after losing a bet with his children and complained that the wig was uncomfortable.

Rachel Apa, 24, of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, tragically passed away after collapsing near mile 24 of the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

What makes this heartbreaking story even more devastating is the reason Rachel chose to run. She dedicated her first marathon to her beloved grandfather, who passed away from Parkinson’s disease in 2022.

Rachel had spent months training for the 26.2-mile challenge and raising money for the Parkinson’s Foundation through its Parkinson’s Champions team. She wanted to honor her grandfather’s memory while helping others affected by the disease.

A former Division I field hockey player at Bucknell University, Rachel was a lifelong athlete. After she collapsed in Central Park, bystanders and race medical personnel rushed to help, performing lifesaving efforts before she was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she later died.

According to her family’s account, doctors attributed her death to rhabdomyolysis, a serious condition involving muscle breakdown.

Her passing is a devastating reminder that behind every marathon bib is a person, a family, a dream, and a reason for running. Rachel may not have crossed the finish line, but the love and purpose behind every mile she ran in her grandfather’s honor will never be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences go out to Rachel’s family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. May she rest in peace. 🕊️💔
