She raised a chimpanzee like her own son. Years later, a horrifying 911 call would shock the nation. 😳

On February 16, 2009, a 200-pound chimpanzee named Travis brutally att*cked Charla Nash in Stamford, Connecticut.

Travis had been raised by his owner, Sandra Herold, almost like a human. He wore clothes, ate at the dinner table, and was even capable of opening doors with keys.

But when Travis escaped the house that day, Sandra called her friend Charla to help bring him back inside. What happened next became one of the most disturbing animal att*cks in American history.

Sandra’s frantic 911 call captured her desperate attempts to save her friend. Charla miraculously survived but lost her hands, eyesight, and much of her face. In 2011, she underwent a groundbreaking full-face transplant.

The tragedy remains a haunting reminder that even animals raised around humans retain their wild instincts.

Do you remember hearing about this case? 👀

The American flag is more than a symbol. It represents freedom, courage, sacrifice, and the unbreakable American spirit. Every star and stripe tells the story of a nation built on liberty and defended by generations of patriots. Long may she wave over the land of the free and home of the brave 🇺🇸
