BE THE LIGHT💡
One of my key takeaways from the TuWezeshe Akina Dada Fellowship has been understanding that girls are not just young people who need protection; they are individuals with lived experiences, voices, dreams, and rights that deserve to be heard and respected.
With that,I have come to appreciate the importance of collective responsibility, solidarity, and action in protecting and advancing women’s and girls rights.
Beyond the knowledge gained, this fellowship has been a deeply personal journey of self-discovery. I have learned more about myself and uncovered feelings, convictions, and values I didn’t even realize ran so deeply within me. Some things I had never fully understood about myself have become clearer, and I have found myself reflecting more deeply on what moves me, what I believe in and the kind of change I want to see in the world. It has been an emotional reminder that sometimes in the process of learning about others, we discover parts of ourselves we never knew were there.
I leave with a deeper sense of responsibility, a fuller understanding of myself and a heart even more committed to the cause.
Today, I proudly stand for women’s and girls’ rights.
And this is only the beginning. 🧡

Moja ya mambo muhimu niliyojifunza kupitia TuWezeshe Akina Dada Fellowship ni kuelewa kwamba wasichana si vijana wanaohitaji tu kulindwa; wao ni watu wenye uzoefu wa maisha, sauti, ndoto na haki zinazostahili kusikilizwa na kuheshimiwa.
Pamoja na hayo, nimekuja kuthamini umuhimu wa uwajibikaji wa pamoja, mshikamano na kuchukua hatua katika kulinda na kuendeleza haki za wanawake na wasichana.
Zaidi ya maarifa niliyopata, ushirika huu umekuwa safari ya kina ya kujitambua. Nimejifunza zaidi kuhusu hisia, misimamo na maadili ambayo sikutambua kuwa yalikuwa yamejikita kwa kina ndani yangu. Baadhi ya mambo ambayo sikuwahi kuyaelewa kikamilifu kunihusu yameanza kuwa wazi zaidi na nimejikuta nikitafakari kwa kina kuhusu mambo ninayoamini, na aina ya mabadiliko ninayotaka kuyaona duniani.
